Adidas Yeezy Sneaker by Kanye West
Kanye West has been criticized throughout his career for almost everything he has ever done. People criticized his rap style, his fashion taste, his political statements about who he married and even his sneakers. And above all the Adidas Yeezy sneakers have repeatedly led to controversial debates in the social networks. But if Kanye West had listened to the critics, he would never have become what he is today: one of the most successful artists and designers of our time. Kanye West is someone who has always held on to his dreams and never let himself be misled by critics.
Kanye West and the missed chance of Nike
The legendary collaboration between Kanye West and Adidas was almost impossible, as West was initially under contract with competitor Nike. There are countless stories about why Nike and West split up. One of the most likely reasons is that Nike's CEO, Mark Parker, did not believe in the success of this collaboration. He did not see in him the potential of the next Michael Jordan and so they parted ways in 2013. At the end of 2013 Adidas seized the opportunity and started one of the most successful collaborations in the company's history. The Adidas Yeezy brand was born.
Everyone should be able to buy Yeezy sneakers.
At the beginning of the collaboration with Adidas, West promised his fans that the sneakers would be available for everyone they wanted to buy. Unfortunately, with this promise, he had probably had no idea of the hype that the shoes would eventually trigger. Until today almost all new models were sold out shortly after the release.
The first Yeezy sneaker appeared in February 2015, the Jonathan Leibson 01 belonged to the so-called Yeezy Season, the first collection that included sneakers as well as clothing. The shoe was a complete success, it was celebrated by sneakerheads all over the world. In the meantime more than 20 different models of the Yeezy sneaker have appeared and the Adidas Yeezy brand is still extremely successful.
